The Project
A consumer energy platform for gas and electricity customers — households and small businesses. The brief covered two distinct user types: consumers managing their own accounts digitally, and customer service agents handling assisted calls on behalf of those who couldn't self-serve.
The consumer app needed to make energy feel legible — usage, billing, and plan management without requiring the user to understand how energy pricing actually works. The agent console needed to be fast enough for high call-volume environments, with full customer context visible the moment a call comes in.

Engagement
Consumer App
Designed for dual-fuel households managing electricity and gas in one place. The core jobs: understand what you're using, know what you owe, and switch plan if you want to. Everything else is secondary.
Home Dashboard
A single view of everything that matters — this month's consumption, estimated bill, and smart meter status. The usage sparkline gives households a quick read on whether they're tracking up or down versus normal.
Quick actions surface the three most common jobs: top up credit, report an issue, switch plan.
Usage Detail
Daily consumption broken down by electricity or gas. The toggle lets users switch between fuels without navigating away — important for dual-fuel households who want to understand each separately.
Month, week, and day views give context at every resolution. Today's bar is always highlighted.
My Plan
Current tariff shown prominently with unit rate and standing charge visible without digging. The 100% renewable badge reinforces the value proposition at every visit.
Alternative plans are surfaced inline — with annual savings calculated — so switching never requires leaving the app.
Billing
Balance and next direct debit date are the first things billing-anxious users look for. Both are above the fold, with a one-tap pay option for those who want to settle early.
Payment history is a clean list — no accordion, no pagination for typical usage.
